Part 1 - Arrive At Aircraft

Upon arrival at aircraft:

External Safety Checks
  • Chocks IN PLACE
  • Landing Gear Doors (See *)
  • * When any gear door is open, check that respective Gear Door Release Handle is in "DOORS OPEN" position. WARNING: If handle is in "DOORS CLOSED" position and doors are open, pressurizing Hyd#1 or Hyd#4 system will close doors and can result in personnel injury.
  • APU GND Control Panel Check Fire Control handle stow
  • Flight Control areas >>> Clear
  • APU exhuast area >>> Clear
Entering Flight Deck:
  • Check aircraft status
  • Check Documents (DDL, Tech Log, Certificates, MEL)
  • Check mic boom and set head set

Safety Checks
  • Battery >>> ON
  • Standby Power selector >>> AUTO
  • (Hyd Sel >>> OFF)
  • ALTN Flaps selector >>> OFF
  • Gear lever >>> DOWN
  • Flaps lever >>> UP
  • (FCS >>> CUTOFF)
  • Spoiler/Speed Brake lever >>> STOWED
  • Parking Brake >>> SET
Check with GND Crew:
  • "Cockpit to Ground, ready to start APU and Packs";
  • Once confirm safe to start,
  • APU >>> ON
  • APU GEN 1 >>> ON
  • Pack 1, 2, 3 >>> ON
  • Light Test >>> Check all panel lights
  • NAV, Wing, Logo Lights >>> ON
  • STATUS >>> Check Oxy (1300~1500 PSI) and Hyd Qty
  • Gear synoptic switch >>> Check brake temp
  • ATIS >>> Copy
  • Airport Charts >>> Take out the necessary charts for departure
  • Walk-a-round >>> (Bring torchlight and ear plugs)
  • Catering >>> Check sufficient for all crew and other personnel
  • Safety Equipment >>> Check ^
  • ^ Escape slide, life vests (extra 5x), Gloves (1x), Oxycrew (4x), Torch (1x), ELT (1x), Halon extinguisher (3x), H2O extinguisher (2x), EFA-79 (1x), Megaphone (1x), Escape Harness (6x), Portable oxygen and mask (5x), Life rifts (2x), each flight crew station has 1x gorgles 1x life vest.
